  The Public Hearing on August 31 is related to the following:

  Draft I-1 Industrial District Zoning Ordinance (7/31/2026) This ordinance would expand the I-1 Industrial District and establish comprehensive regulations for new conditional uses including data centers, solar energy systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and energy generation facilities. All conditional uses would require public hearings and Board of Supervisors approval.

  Ordinance No. 2 of 2026: Natural Resource Protection Overlay (7/30/2026) This ordinance establishes a Natural Resource Protection Overlay that applies to all zoning districts in the Township. It identifies and protects environmentally sensitive lands including floodplains, steep slopes, wetlands, watercourses, woodlands, prime agricultural soils, and hydric soils. The overlay establishes site capacity calculations, grading and erosion controls, stormwater management requirements, tree protection standards, and environmental hazard restrictions.

  Residents and landowners are encouraged to review the proposed ordinances and provide feedback.

• Special Meeting of the Bear Creek Township Board of Supervisors
  The Bear Creek Township Board of Supervisors will hold a Special Meeting on
  Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 6:00 PM
  at the Neighborhood Facilities Building, 3333 Bear Creek Blvd., Bear Creek Twp, PA 18702.

• ⚠️ NOTICE: July 15th Public Hearing CANCELLED
  The public hearing scheduled for Wednesday, July 15th has been cancelled. A new date and time will be announced once finalized. Please check back here for updates on the rescheduled hearing.

• Bear Creek Grace Chapel will begin its non-denominational Summer Worship Services
  on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Services will be held every Sunday through Labor Day weekend. All are welcome to attend. The chapel is located on Chapel Road, off Route 115, in Bear Creek.

• Bear Creek Township Electronics Recycling Event
  Have old electronics taking up space? Drop them off at the Township Building on Saturday, July 11 from 9am to 12pm.
  Most items are accepted free of charge — computers, laptops, phones, cables, appliances, and more. Some larger items like TVs and monitors have a small fee.
  Destruction services for hard drives and documents are also available for $10 each.
  Cash or checks only. Checks payable to Responsible Recycling Services (RRS).

• Bear Creek Township Community Movie Night
  Join us Tuesday, June 9 for a free outdoor movie night at the Rec Field on Recreation Rd! Gates open at 7:30 PM for yard games, kickball, and music. The movie — Disney Pixar’s Hoppers — starts at 8:15 PM. Bring your own chairs and blankets. Light refreshments available. Rain or shine!

• Proposed Zoning Amendments: Data Centers & Solar Farms in Bear Creek Township
  Bear Creek Township is considering proposed amendments to its Zoning Ordinance that would create a Data Center Overlay  District and a Solar Energy Facilities Overlay District. A public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from
  6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bear Creek Community Charter School.
